Over the years, Redcode consultants have made their livings by leveraging resources from a countless number of open source projects. We believe that there is a business model in choosing to release software assets free of charge through open source channels. While the release of common frameworks could theoretically increase competition for some of our services, we believe that the very real benefits of delivering solutions built on widely available tools and frameworks is the best for us and our customers. This means that we tend to release core frameworks to the open source community so that they can be tested and perhaps reach a wider audience. This gives us great satisfaction in knowing that we are giving something back and it is also the best situation for our customers because it reduces lock-in and increases the market for people that can maintain their solutions going forward. We don't build our business by locking our customers in against their will. We prefer to stand on our own merits of delivering quality products and excellent service.

We are currently incubating a JavaScript web application framework named Protowidget. You can find it on the Protowidget Wiki.

Redcode's owner, Terry Laurenzo, also maintains a weblog about various topics related to software.
